The first of a non-canon couple series...
Warnings: this fanmix deals with adultery. if you don't like that, then don't scroll down any further.
Also, Edward is a lot different than his book character. This is following the assumption that he and Rosalie have been on and off since about 1933. Meaning that he and Rosalie have a deeper relationship than they did in the Twilight canon universe. Alright, so you're duly warned...

1. Youth Group – Forever Young
First impressions, he reasoned, were among the most difficult things about meeting people, as he had never been quite sure which Edward he should show to people. So, when Carlisle had brought the screaming blonde girl, he had been thankful that he had time to formulate his first impression. No amount of preparation would have been adequate for meeting Rosalie.

“Who are you?” she demanded suspiciously, imperiously glaring at him from her perch across the room.

“I’m Edward,” he replied coolly, unsure how to act around someone who seemed to be just as forceful as he was. “I was the first one Carlisle changed.”

Her expression softened slightly, realizing that this boy was a kindred spirit of some sort. “I’m Rosalie,” she murmured quietly, trying to be nicer. “It’s nice to meet someone who understands.”

2. The Cardigans – Lovefool
The first time they had kissed was two months after she had become a vampire. It had been pure, a meaningless and accidental brushing of the lips and Rosalie had been unable to get it out of her mind for weeks after, much to her consternation as that meant that Edward was privy to it as well.

She’d approached Edward while they were off by themselves. “I want to try again.” She was shocked by her own brazenness and candor.

“I don’t think that’s such a good idea,” he had hedged, clearly unwilling to admit what she was talking about.

“It’ll be strictly experimental,” she scoffed, attempting an appeal at his academic side. “Didn’t you say you wanted to be a doctor one day?” She still had her mouth half open when his lips pressed gently on hers.

3. Eve 6 – Here’s to the night
Esme and Carlisle had usually retired by ten at night, meaning that Rosalie and Edward had full freedom in the forest around the home.

“Why do you suppose they let us alone like this?” Rosalie had asked him once they were out of earshot of their “parents”.

Edward smiled crookedly, making Rosalie fall in love with him all over again. “Apparently, Carlisle’s attempt at matchmaking failed, or at least he thinks it did. I think the ruse is foolproof.”

“Good.” She kissed him softly, then confessing in a low tone. “I’ve been wanting to do this for a few hours now.”

“Oh really?” Edward asked teasingly, darting out of reach momentarily before returning to her side. “Do you hear the music?”

She listened carefully, hearing strains of music from a local dance hall. Edward was still smiling at her expectantly, obviously waiting for something. She sighed, relenting. “Mr. Cullen, may I have this dance?”

She was immediately pulled into his embrace. “You didn’t need to ask me twice.”

4. No Doubt – Running

He easily kept up with her. “You’re an idiot! No, worse than an idiot. You’re an imbecile, Rosalie. I can’t believe you’re doing this.”

She clutched the gigantic human closer to her. “Shut up Edward. He asked me if I was an angel.” She looked down at the human, at first lovingly, then with a grimace. “How could any of them ever think that we were angels?”

Edward glared at her. “One fight, and then you turn around and decide to rescue a human from inevitable death. You’re unbelievable, Rosalie.”

She bit her tongue before spewing out something vitriolic at her sometimes lover. She added the sometimes because when she and Edward weren’t getting along, their fights were epic battles, often spanning a few weeks at a time. She loved Edward, and she was almost positive that he loved her back, but he refused to get too close to her. Whenever she strived for intimacy, he would pull back, citing various reasons as his excuse.

She was tired of it.

5. Death Cab for Cutie – The Sound of Settling
She’d never been more nervous in her whole life, or death, than she was at this moment. The human, vampire she corrected herself, was finally done with his transformation and Carlisle was hovering over him, anxiously waiting on his patient.

The man sat up, slowly regaining full consciousness. He looked around the room frantically, barely registering Carlisle, before he found her. He smiled broadly, a slow light coming to his face.

“The angel,” he drawled quietly. He turned to Carlisle and then looked down at the bedsheets and the slightly dirty room. “Are you God? I always thought heaven would have been a little cleaner than this. I don’t mean no offense.”

“None taken.” Carlisle looked taken aback. “I’m Dr. Cullen, and I assure you that we aren’t in heaven.” He gestured towards Rosalie. “This is Rosalie, my adopted daughter.

“Rosalie,” the man said a few times. “That’s a good name for an angel, if I ever heard one.”

Carlisle gestured infinitesimally at Rosalie before quickly making his exit. The man smirked at his backside, and got out of bed. Rosalie watched him apprehensively, unsure of what to expect from such a creature.

“I’m Emmett McCarty,” he announced grandly, clutching her hands with one of his. “Pleased to make your acquaintance, Rosalie.”

She smiled, a bit sadly. Emmett McCarty was her future, whatever that meant. She apologized to Edward in her head, as she took a step away from her past.

6. The Doors – Wishful Sinful
It wasn’t until 1950 that Edward touched her again. He had taken painstaking care to always be kind, even overly friendly with Emmett, but to her he’d been cold. As far as anyone was aware, it was how things had always been between them, but only the two of them knew different.

The two of them had gone hunting, while Emmett, Carlisle and Esme were hunting in a different place, in a dark secluded forest. He hadn’t meant to talk to her, he’d intended to simply ignore her and take his anger out on the animals.

“Are you ever going to talk to me again?” She asked fiercely, her eyes flashing in the darkness.

He went still, allowing the deer he’d been stalking to get away. “I talk to you all the time,” he reminded her stiffly. “It’s what is required of me.”

She drew closer to him. “You know what I mean.” He stiffened as her breath tickled him. “Edward, don’t you miss it at all?”

He looked at her, the sadness plain in his eyes. “Everyday.” The look in her eyes was encouraging him. He tried thinking of anyone, Emmett, Carlisle, Esme, his mother, the girl at the drugstore who tried to slip him her street address, anyone that would stop him from thinking of Rosalie. Too late.

She was practically on top of him by now. “Just one kiss,” she wheedled. “It’s just an experiment.”

Edward relented, allowing himself to be pulled down, before he stopped a few inches above her lips. “Just one, though.”

7. The Fray – All at Once

“Stop,” she said firmly. “You can’t do this Edward.”

“Why not?” He challenged her petulantly. “You did it to me.”

She glared at him, itching to throttle him. “Emmett was dying, Edward. You would have done the same thing in my situation. This is different. This girl is alive, and she’s not someone who needs your help.”

“I saved her,” he shot back as they ran deeper into the forest of Forks. “She was going to die and I saved her. Doesn’t that count for anything.”

“Of course it is,” she said patiently, trying to find some compassion for Edward. “But she doesn’t know what we are, she’s not in life-threatening danger and I’m sure she doesn’t want to be a vampire.” She looked at him pleadingly. “Please, Edward. Understand where I’m coming from. Don’t do this to us. I want this place to work out.”

His jaw jutted out, making him look like an overgrown five year old. “I miss you, Rosalie.”

“We agreed not here,” she said sadly, thinking of her husband and the rest of her family. “But I miss you too Edward.”

He grabbed her and brought her closer to him, kissing her firmly. “I love you Rosalie Hale. Don’t ever forget that.” His eyes flashed dangerously. “You were mine first.”

8. The Beautiful South – Don’t Marry Her
It wasn’t that she didn’t like Bella, because she did, really she did. It was just weird to think that Edward, her Edward, was going to get married to another girl. No, it wasn’t weird, she chastised herself, because she was happily married to Emmett and now it was Edward’s turn.

Still, a small voice piped up, why hadn’t he married her all those years ago? Had she not been good enough for him? And if that was the case, then why did he keep running back to her like she had him on a leash?

She found him on Sunday, during one of his precious alone times. “Let’s go hunt,” she suggested cheerfully.”

He looked at her for any indication that she was planning anything. “Okay. Let’s go.”

She waited until much later to make her move. “Don’t marry her Edward. Please, don’t marry her.”

He frowned. “I seem to recall this conversation, except it was me begging you, and you standing here unmovable. So, no, Rosalie, I’m afraid I can’t acquiesce this time.”

“Please Ed,” she begged him, wrapping her arms around his neck. She kissed him softly on the lips. “I love you. Didn’t you tell me that I was yours first?”

“Things change,” he said shortly, disengaging himself from her embrace. “I’ve changed.”

She started to cry, broken sobs wracking her whole body. After what seemed like an eternity he pulled her up off the ground and kissed her fiercely.

“What was that for?” she asked quietly.

He kissed her quickly, swiftly pulling back. “It’s just one kiss.”

“An experiment,” she murmured back, leaning forward for just one more tiny indescretion.
